The 14 day cultural and beach holiday in Basilicata is designed for people who are looking to both relax and spend time exploring the region.
The first half of the holiday follows the format of the ‘7 days in Basilicata’ package and gives you the opportunity to explore the history, sights and culture of this beautiful region.
The itinerary includes time in Matera, the surrounding countryside and village of Irsina, plus, the ancient Greek coastal village of Metaponto.
The free time included is designed to provide the right balance of activity and relaxation. My Italian Job provides entertainment and cultural suggestions to help you decide how to spend your free time, based on personal preferences. Recommendations on where to eat and drink are also included.
On day seven you remain at the farmhouse at Metaponto, where you spend the rest of the holiday on the fine sandy beaches of the Ionion Sea to relax, unwind and re-charge.
The converted farmhouse is full of character with high quality en-suite rooms and outdoor swimming pool. Half board accommodation is included (excluding drinks) and excellent meals are made from local produce.
Alternatively, you can transfer to the coastline of Basilicata on the Tyrrhenian Sea and enjoy a totally different and stunning rugged seascape of coves and bays. Here, you will stay in a beautiful 3 star hotel surrounded by landscaped gardens with a swimming pool and private rocky beach area.

Food and Accomodation
Accommodation is based on hotels handpicked by My Italian Job for location,originality, quality, atmosphere and value for money.
Each room in the 3 star hotel in the heart of the Sassi, the historic centre of Matera, is a unique ‘rock dwelling’ converted to include all modern day comforts whilst retaining the charm of its ancient past.
All rooms include en suite bathroom and breakfast. Half board (excluding drinks) is included at the farmhouse in Metaponto.
All meals outlined in the itinerary include water and wine unless stated otherwise. Special food requirements can be catered for.
